Economy Balancing

To keep zeny valuable and the market healthy, CirrusRO tunes the NPC sell value of a set of high-yield loots, and the drop rate of a few of them. This page is the reference: each table shows the value before balancing next to the current CirrusRO value, so you always know what a drop is worth and how often it falls.

Updated July 24, 2026

A second pass trimmed a few more spots (Magma Dungeon, Geffenia, Amatsu, Niflheim), and, after player feedback that the Niflheim field was hit too hard on July 20, Red Muffler and Tangled Chains were raised back up (to 200z and 220z). Both changes are already in the table below.

How it works

CirrusRO runs 5x drop rates. For loot that is already common on classic, 5x pushes the drop very high, in most cases to a guaranteed 100% every kill, and a handful of items also carry very high NPC sell prices. Together, that let a few farm spots out-earn the rest of the game by a wide margin. To keep any single spot from setting the price of everything, those specific loots are tuned two ways:

  • NPC sell values are set lower on the items in the first table. This changes only what an NPC pays you. Their drop rates are unchanged, so anything used for quests, brewing, forging, or as a consumable keeps flowing exactly as normal.
  • A few drop rates are set to their classic, pre-5x chances (second table). Every one is still a common, farmable drop.

Everything else, card drops, equipment drop rates, EXP, and Cirrus Coins, is outside this and unchanged.

NPC sell values

Base prices. Merchant Overcharge applies on top, as it does for everything.

NPC buying prices are unchanged, so anything an NPC sells (for weddings, quests, and so on) costs the same as always. The Stone of Sage and +10 dishes are just as good to use; only what an NPC pays for them is lower.

Drop rates

The "Before" column is what 5x produced (a guaranteed drop on nearly all of them); "Now" is the live CirrusRO chance. Everything not listed keeps its full 5x rate.

Monster Item Before Now
Hill Wind Harpy Feather 100% 40%
Hill Wind Harpy Talon 100% 30%
Harpy Harpy Feather 100% 48.5%
Harpy Harpy Talon 100% 25%
Mavka Crystal Mirror 75% 15%
Sleeper Great Nature 100% 50%
Apocalypse / Hell Apocalypse Metal Fragment 100% 53.4%
Apocalypse / Hell Apocalypse Fragment 100% 24%
Apocalypse / Hell Apocalypse Cogwheel 100% 22%
Apocalypse / Hell Apocalypse Steel 100% 25%
Venatu (all colors) Rusty Screw 100% 20%
Archdam Rusty Screw 100% 50%
Zakudam Rusty Screw 100% 50%
Teddy Bear Rusty Screw 100% 38%
Dimik (all colors) Used Iron Plate 100% 20%
Old Stove Used Iron Plate 100% 38%
High Orc Ogre Tooth 100% 50%
Miyabi Doll Star Crumb 62.5% 25%
Skogul / Frus Rune of Darkness 100% 35%
Skeggiold Rune of Darkness 100% 60%
Echio / Agav Bloody Rune 100% 40%

These are scoped to the monsters listed. The same loot from any other source keeps its full 5x rate: Great Nature elsewhere, Steel elsewhere, Crystal Mirror elsewhere, and Star Crumb elsewhere are all untouched, so forging, brewing, and Sage catalysts are unaffected. Where a listed monster carries a second, smaller drop slot of the same rune, that slot follows its classic chance too.

Not affected

  • Card drop rates, everywhere.
  • Equipment and weapon drop rates (only the NPC sell prices of the few pieces above changed).
  • MVP drops, on every MVP.
  • EXP rates, still 5x, and quest EXP still passes through 5x.
  • Cirrus Coins, drops, caps, and shops.
  • Starter and everyday loot, Jellopy, Fluff, Zargon, Cyfar, Feathers, Skel-Bones, and the other common loots that everyone sells.
  • Elemental stone sell prices and 3-Carat Diamond.

Selling loot is still good income

Every item above still sells, most spots still pay well, and loot income is a core part of the game. Balancing only keeps any single farm spot from towering over the rest of the server, so the zeny you earn and save holds its value.
